Influencing Policy
We work with the Nepal Government and International bodies to influence public policy and legislation.
Music Royalty Collection Society Nepal(MRCSN) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization. Established in 2007 under the copyright act of Nepal that protects and administers the rights of authors and composers. It’s objectives are to collect royalties for public music performances in the first phase and the collection of mechanical royalties at a later stage. It has been successful in establishing an efficient, and effective environment for royalty collection and distribution through a small unit of administration. It has been a provisional member of CISAC since 2008.
We work with the Nepal Government and International bodies to influence public policy and legislation.
Whether we’re funding new music, championing established artists, or helping our members, we’re here to support the future of music and its makers.
We collect royalties through licensing agreements with music users. These licences cover all kinds of music use, whether it’s for digital, broadcast or public performance.
We’re committed to protecting the value of music and ensuring our members are represented. It’s why we’re fighting music piracy and tackling the changes that digital has brought to the industry.
